Health & Safety Officer

DCT Recruitment is seeking a competent and motivated Health & Safety Officer to join our client’s site team at Shotton Mill in Deeside. This is a hands-on role requiring a Level 3 Health & Safety qualification and the ability to ensure compliance with statutory legislation and company policies.
You will play a vital role in promoting a safe working environment, conducting risk assessments, safety audits, and ensuring all employees and contractors adhere to health and safety standards.

• Location: Deeside – Shotton Mill Project
• Rate: £21 per hour (CIS)
• Shifts: Monday to Friday, 07:00 – 17:30

Responsibilities:
• Carry out regular site inspections and audits to identify hazards and implement corrective actions
• Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with health and safety legislation
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses; prepare reports and recommend preventive measures
• Deliver safety inductions and toolbox talks to staff and contractors
• Liaise with management and external agencies to promote safety initiatives
• Maintain health and safety documentation and records
• Support emergency preparedness and response procedures

Requirements:
• Level 3 Health & Safety qualification (NEBOSH or equivalent)
• Proven experience working as a Health & Safety Officer within an industrial or manufacturing environment
• Sound knowledge of UK health and safety laws and regulations
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively at all levels
• Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently
